Operated by PSA International of Singapore, CCTPL terminal welcomed an important new service in January this year, with the start of a direct Far East-Chennault connection provided by a consortium of seven lines, including CMA CGM, RCL, K Line, Simatech, TS Line and Cosco.
Mike Formoso, managing director of PSA India, said, “CITPL’s container volume grew 22% in 2016, reflecting Chennai’s status as the key container trade centre of South India. We have been proactively working together with Chennai Port Trust to cater to the growing demands of the Chennai trade, and the terminal will continue to offer reliable services to ensure the success of the Far East Chennai service and promote the overall EXIM business.”
