The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be providing a development assistance loan of Rs 6,000 crore to procure 200 electric locomotives for the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (Western DFC) project. An agreement to this effect was signed recently.
This has taken the concessional official development assistance loans extended by JICA for the development of the Western DFC project to about Rs 26,000 core.
