Mr Ennarasu Karunesan has assumed charge as CEO – Adani Ports & SEZ (Southern Ports), based out of Chennai. He took over charge from Mr G. J. Rao who played a key role for more than two years in the development of Adani Kattupalli, Adani Ennore Container Terminal and Adani Murmugao Port Terminal. Mr Rao is moving on to take over port projects related responsibility within the Adani Group, based out of Ahmedabad.
Mr Ennarasu, with his rich experience having served in leadership positions for more than three decades in ports and container terminals in Major Ports, international, multinational ports in India and abroad, will now spearhead the South Ports businesses of Adani Ports & SEZ Ltd, viz. Adani Kattupalli Port, Adani Ennore Container Terminal at Kamarajar Port and Adani Murmugao Port Terminal in Goa. Before assuming this position, he was the CEO of Mundra and Tuna Ports for about three years. Mundra Port is Adani’s flagship port, the largest port in the country which handles more than 122 million tonnes of cargo annually.
Adani Ports, in a release, requested the trade’s valuable and unstinted support to Mr Ennarasu Karunesan for enabling him to serve them better in South India for the growth of exim trade.
