Adding another milestone in its history of 102 years, the CKB Group moved the first ever Customs cleared, closed body truck (CBT) from ICD Sanand, near Ahmedabad, for Bangladesh, under the new Customs notification that has allowed such movement from any ICD/CFS to Bangladesh and Nepal.

Thus far, exporters were allowed to move their cargo to Bangladesh by road, either in loose trucks via Petrapole border after Customs clearance, or in CBT only through very selective ICDs, making it highly time consuming and raising concerns regarding the safety of cargo. Also, exporters at times faced difficulties in getting their export benefits. The new notification has opened up opportunity for all ICDs and made export to Bangladesh/Nepal fast and very easy. Exporters can also avail of all their export incentives at the ICD itself.

The CKB Group, along with ICD Sanand, is among the first few to take the benefit of this new opportunity. The first CBT carrying textile goods was sealed with ECTS (Electronic Cargo Tracking System) by the Customs after the clearance. It will move into Bangladesh after the necessary seal verification process at the Petrapole border and unload the cargo. The CBT was flagged off by Mr Satyen Desai, COO, CKB Group, along with Mr Ruchir Parekh, MD, The Thar Dry Port, which runs ICD Sanand, in the presence of the trade and Customs officials.

CKB Group, which has always been at the forefront of any such new and innovative developments, is present all across India. It also has its own overseas offices in addition to a large network of agents. Led by the Sheth brothers, with a team of 350+ professionals across the country, CKB, as it is popularly known, offers the entire range of logistics services for the exim trade, making it one of the oldest and largest logistics companies in India. The CKB logo and tagline, “you are safe in our hands”, underscores the importance of customer satisfaction at this century old organisation.
