Jae-hoon Bae, the new President & CEO of Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM), is keen on consolidating HMM’s relationship with the 2M Alliance, comprising Maersk Line and MSC, with which the line currently has an agreement for strategic cooperation.
It is learnt that HMM is looking to become a full member of 2M by next year, as per reports.
The reports added that, in this connection, Maersk put out the following statement: “We are happy with the partnership with HMM through 2M and are looking forward to reviewing options for extending the cooperation in due course. The current agreement runs until April 2020 and at this stage it is too early to engage in any discussions about the future and the potential extension of the agreement.”
