The New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) has awarded the present dredging contract to DCI, to carry out post-monsoon dredging. The work is expected to commence from mid-September, said a report.
NMPT maintained the declared draughts during the monsoon period as done in the previous years. A vessel owned by the Shipping Corporation of India—MT Desh Rakshak—drawing a draught of 13.5 metres, berthed at Berth No. 11 on August 31, 2019, the report added.
