JNPT concludes Swachhta Pakhwada’, with a pledge to keep the port clean and green

October 24, 2020: Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), India’s premier container port concluded Swachhta Pakhwada with a tree plantation drive. As a part of Swachh Bharat Mission, JNPT carried out plantation drive led by Shri Sanjay Sethi, IAS, Chairman, JNPT and Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Dy. Chairman, JNPT along with HoDs for a greener and Sustainable future. The port observed Swachhta Pakhwada with several innovative programs to raise awareness about cleanliness.

Under Swachhta Fortnight, JNPT undertook sanitization and cleanliness drive at various locations in the Port. Disseminating the message of Swachh Bharat widely, JNPT installed banners and signage boards at strategic locations to enable awareness amongst people within and outside the Port. JNPT also carried out various online training session and series of webinars for its employees mainly aimed at creating awareness and to inculcate the importance of the clean environment, better sanitation. Various competitions like Essay writing and slogan competition were also conducted for JNPT employees through online mode. Innovative campaigns were carried out through JNPT social media platforms to inculcate the importance of the clean environment, better sanitation which was received well by netizens.

Coming together for a cleaner tomorrow, JNPT has been implementing proper cleaning for all it’s facilities on a regular basis. JNPT will continue to remain a socially conscious organization, and will make efforts towards building a clean and Sustainable Port and become a Green Port.
