November 16, 2020: the Andaman & Nicobar administration had entered into an agreement with Cochin Shipyard (CSL) in November last year to modernise the marine dock at Port Blair. CSL shall assist the administration is setting up a ship repair ecosystem, modernise the facility and undertake skill development in the Islands. The agreement is for 30 years during which CSL will spruce the operational efficiency of the dockyard and ship repair ecosystem in the Island, to ensure quick turnaround and minimum downturn of vessels.
