December 8, 2020: A new service from China to India which is operated by Sinokor Line in partnership with Heung A, Wanhai, Feeder Tech and Intra Asia Lines will make its maiden call at the Port of Colombo on 7 December.

Aitken Spence Shipping Ltd. is the local agent for Sinokor Lines in Sri Lanka.

This will be a weekly service deploying 6 x 4200 TEU vessels, directly connecting China to Sri Lanka and India.

The first vessel on the Sinokor India Service (SIS) service which is the Mv. Singapore Bridge operated by Sinokor Line, is due to arrive in Colombo on 7 December and expected to berth at CICT Terminal.

The port rotation of the new service is Dalian, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Port Klang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, Mundra and back to China.

Sinokor Merchant Marine is Korea’s fourth largest shipping line and operates shipping services mainly in Asia.

The new service will enable Sinokor to provide direct connections between North China and Western India and to increase their presence in the Indian subcontinent region. Colombo will be used as the transhipment port for South India.

With most mainliners facing space and equipment constraints, this service will support importers in Sri Lanka to bring their cargo from China and South East Asia, Aitken Spence said.
