Throughout the pandemic, DP World has facilitated the movement of various critical and essential goods like Vaccines, Medicines, Raw Materials for face masks / sanitizers, rice, wheat, pulses, fruits, and other cargo. The company also assisted NGOs such as Doctors Without Borders to move hospital beds, ventilators and other critical shipments. DP World employees are diligently working in these challenging times, to provide uninterrupted services to customers, communities, and the Nation.

In April 2020, DP World rolled out a strategic program to provide COVID-19 relief support. The program included several initiatives to support less privileged and migrant workers impacted by the outbreak of the pandemic. The company has been constantly assisting frontline workers and hospitals across India. DP World has distributed 34 new portable medical ventilators to hospitals across its operating locations in India. The end-to-end movement of ventilators was done by DP World from UAE to India. Rizwan Soomar, CEO & MD, Subcontinent, DP World, said “We are committed to help the country in the fight against Coronavirus. As we continue to provide COVID-19 relief support, we have also taken every measure to keep goods flowing across the country.

Our focus now is to ensure swift and efficient distribution of COVID-19 vaccines across the world. We have partnered with UNICEF to support the global distribution with an aim to ensure that vaccine is available to all, especially in the developing countries.

We are also heavily investing in India’s Cold Chain Infrastructure with our pan India network of cold chain warehouses and large fleet of refrigerated vehicles which can support primary, secondary & last mile distribution of vaccine across India.” Throughout the pandemic, DP World partnered with Akshaya Patra and several other NGOs to provide cooked meals and other relief material to those who depend on daily wages or have lost their livelihoods. The company distributed dry ration kits to the local communities in which it operates.
