CONCOR organizes webinar on Indigenous manufacturing of containers

India’s leading multimodal logistics company Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) is a Navratna Public Undertaking of Ministry of Railways, Government of India with pan India footprints. Inspired by the Atma Nirbhar Bharat vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, CONCOR organized a Webinar on “Indigenous Manufacturing of Containers” on 05-03-2021, against the backdrop of container shortage in the country. Hon’ble Minister for Railways Shri Piyush Goyal delivered the Keynote address in Webinar.

CONCOR involved all Stakeholders related to container manufacture, maintenance and operation in the Webinar. Indigenous manufacturing of containers shall be a big boost for Indian industries and generate employment for the youth. Cutting down dependence on import of containers shall also save India precious foreign exchange.

Further to the above Webinar organised by CONCOR for Manufacturing of Containers in India under the direction of H’ble Minister of Railways, CONCOR has floated an Expression Of Interest (EOI) on 06.04.2021 with the aim of preparing and showing the way forward for prospective Indigenous Container Manufacturers for the forthcoming Competitive Bidding Process. As per this EOI, CONCOR plans to place developmental orders of a minimum of 1000 Containers each on a maximum of six (6) vendors. Container Manufacturers meeting the norms of Public Procurement (Preference to Make- in – India) Order,2017 of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Public procurement Section dated 16.09.2020 shall be categorized as Indigenous Container Manufacturers.
