Distribution Logistics Infrastructure (DLI) flagged off its “First Export Train” on August 12th 2016 at 1730 Hrs from the Integrated Logistics Park (ILP) at Borkhedi, Nagpur to Nhava ShevaPort.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Pandey, Principal Commissioner, Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax, Nagpur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The function was presided by Mr. Brijesh Dixit, Managing Director, Nagpur Metro Corporation Ltd. Nagpur. Mr. Ashish Chandan, Commissioner II (Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax, Nagpur) and Mr. Brijesh Kumar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Central Railway were the Guests of Honour on the occasion.
The function was also attended by Mr. Davendra Parekh, President, Vidarbha Economic Development Council, Mr. Atul Pandey, President, Vidarbha Industries Association, Nagpur and Mr. Manish Sanghvi, Vice-president, Butibori Manufacturers Association.
Leading shippers of the region including Mr. Mukul Dixit from Indorama, Mr. B N S Prakash Rao & Mr. Mukul Verma from JSW, Mr Ashwin Shah from Shah Nanji Nagsi were present for the function. Leading representatives of Shipping Lines and CHAs were also present for the function.
Mr. K Sathianathan, Managing Director, DLI, Mr. MS Ramachandran, Independent Director, Infrastructure India Plc. (IIP), Mr. Rajeev Dak, Independent Director, DLI, Capt. Sanjay Sharma, CEO-ILP, Borkhedi and Mr. Mahendra Birhade, Chief Operating Officer, DLI, were present for the ceremony from DLI.
Welcoming the guests, Mr. K Sathianathan, Managing Director, DLI, described the significant features of the infrastructure provided at the ILP, which makes it technologically more advanced than other similar facilities in the region. He pointed out that DLI will currently provide three scheduled departures every week from Borkhedi to Nahava Sheva Port (JNPT/GTIL/NSICT).
Speaking on behalf of the promoter, IIP, Mr. M S Ramchandran, Independent Director, mentioned that DLI will continue to get support from IIP for ensuring the growth of logistics business of DLI.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Kumar Pandey pointed out the need for expanding the infrastructure in the logistics sector in general and the Exim segment in particular to enable expansion of trade and industry. He extended support from the customs department for the new ICD.
Giving the vote of thanks, Capt. Sanjay Sharma, CEO-ILP, Borkhedi, expressed DLI’S gratitude to the Railways, Customs, Shippers and the Exim Tradefraternity for their support to make this event successful and expressed the hope that they would continue to actively collaborate with DLI to create benchmarked logistics services at the ILP.
