For the birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, export and import at Tamabil land port in Sylhet’s Gowainghat will be closed for three days starting Thursday. All port activities, including trade between Bangladesh and India, would be suspended for three days, according to Mahfuzul Islam Bhuiyan, deputy director of the port. Passport-holder travellers will, however, be able to pass through the Tamabil immigration checkpoint as usual. “From Sunday, all activities of the port, including trade between Bangladesh and India, will resume,” Mahfuzul added.
