Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Mahindra and Bajaj auto have established joint ventures with distributors in Bangladesh for assembling a major portion of their products. These automobile giants have streamlined their product launches and are ramping up capacity offering a very high level of customization to customers. As Sri Lankan economic despair continues, Bangladesh, riding its economic boom, has become the new destination for Indian auto companies. “Automobile majors are working with the government, industry associations and SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) to help develop an auto policy that helps serve the needs of customers and the local industry. We are looking forward to introducing high-end bikes, fuel efficient CNG 3Ws and in due course, EVs,” said Rakesh Sharma, ED, Bajaj Auto.
