The Yamuna Expressway Authority will soon start the process to acquire land for the proposed logistics park in Tappal-Bajna Urban Centre and heritage city in Raya Urban Centre. The projects will be developed under Master Plan 2031’s phase 2.

While land acquisition policy will be used for taking over 250 hectares for developing the first phase of the logistics park in Tappal Bajana, officials said YEIDA has been mulling land pooling methods to acquire over 1,000 hectares for heritage city.

Officials said a proposal to acquire land for the logistics park project is likely to be sent to the district administration next month. The Authority recently carried out several anti-encroachment drives in Tappal to remove illegal construction.

Under the land pooling policy, likely to be used for the heritage city project, 25% of the land taken from farmers is returned after developing. On this, the farmers can do activities according to their will or sell it. The Authority uses the remaining 75% of the land for the project development.

While the state government in September this year approved the detailed project report (DPR) of logistics park, the DPR of the heritage city project would be put before YEIDA’s board next month for approval. Subsequently, it would be presented before UP’s public-private partnership bid-evaluation committee.

Officials said the tender process for the selection of developers for both the projects on PPP model would start soon.

During the recent trip of YEIDA and state government officials to Japan, Mitsui has expressed its desire to develop a logistics park here.

Notably, over 20,000 hectares are required for both the urban centres. Tappal-Bajna Urban Centre will be developed in 11,104 hectares. Being close to Noida International Airport, the Authority is giving priority to industrial townships, besides logistics and warehousing activities here.

The Raya Urban Centre will be developed on 9,350 hectares. Heritage city based on the life of Lord Krishna will be developed on 1,000 acres in the first phase here near Mathura and Vrindavan.
