Eastern Railways focuses on Eastern coalfields for freight

Eastern Railways General Manager Arun Arora held a meeting with Eastern Coalfield officials for boosting freight traffic. Arora visited coal mines at Jhajhra for more originating freight revenues for Eastern Railways.  

Significantly, under the guidance of Arora, the freight loading of Eastern Railway in F.Y. 2022-23 stood at 79.72 million tons which is the highest ever in the history of Eastern Railway. Coal being the principal freight of Eastern Railway, Arora aimed to maintain the increasing freight business in Eastern Railway. He had an effective discussion with the mine officials for grabbing a bigger share in coal transport coal-related products.

Arora earlier conducted a window trailing inspection over the Khana-Pandabeswar section of the Asansol Division on Sunday and thoroughly inspected the condition of the Railway track, fixed assets, and safety gears over the section. General Manager advised all concerned to make all possible for ensuring safety in train running vis-à-vis the increase in sectional speed. A.K. Dubey, Principal Chief Engineer and other Principal Officers of Eastern Railway, and Parmanand Sharma, Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol accompanied him during the inspection.

Later, at Asansol, Arun Arora held a meeting with the Divisional Officers in presence of the Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol, and advised all to keep up the spirit to maintain a steady upwards trend in the performance and serve the passengers with a smile.
