Iran keen to emerge as bunkering hub

With vessel traffic increasing in the Persian Gulf due to the lifting of sanctions on Iran, the country sees an immense opportunity in bunkering. According to reports, this is attributed to the claim that bunkering at Iranian ports is $5-7 cheaper compared to the competing UAE port of Fujairah in the region, and Iran developing new bunkering facilities at its Qeshm island.
