PM Gati Shakti is a transformative approach to planning infrastructure in the country, to bring about more efficient logistics which will bring down the logistics cost and thereby give a leg up to manufactured goods and in turn help them in becoming more globally competitive and attract supply chain related investments into the country. It will be a game changer because it is looking at multimodal connectivity of infrastructure. We have an existing network of ports, roads, railways and power and telecom connectivity and then there are upcoming projects in these networks of infrastructure, our endeavour is to strengthen existing infrastructure and take care of supply chain movement.

Gati Shakti will bring in synergy between various departments, for instance if NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) is building a road it requires coordination with the state highways and would need different clearances from other government departments. For this purpose, the GIS based data that includes layers of the assets of the infrastructure ministries like roads, railways, ports etc will come into play. We have about 1463 data layers so that you can plan your work accordingly.

A major challenge in this process is on boarding the data, quality of the data, validation of the data, standardising the data.
