The objective of the partnership is to tackle critical issues within the industry and strategise on elevating it to new heights.

Attended by SLSC Chairman Sean Van Dort and SLPA Chairman Keith D. Bernard, the meeting brought together key stakeholders from both organisations. Among the key areas of discussion were assessments of the current status of digitalisation, Single Window and the Ports Community System (PCS).

Emphasising the critical need for an improved digital infrastructure, the SLSC underscored the significance of increased digitalisation and the importance of the PCS. The logistics cost, identified as considerably high in Sri Lanka, became a focal point of discussion. The SLSC stressed the importance of mutual understanding between the private sector and government agencies, emphasising their role in propelling the nation forward. By fostering collaboration and addressing critical challenges, the industry aims to thrive in an ever-competitive global market. The collaborative effort reflects a commitment to a shared vision of progress, ensuring that Sri Lanka’s shipping industry remains robust and resilient in the face of evolving demands.
