Maheshwari Handling Agency makes record Coal handling at Kandla Port

Kandla Port has made historic record of handling 66480 mts Indonesian coal in Bulk in just 1 day & 4 hours surpassing all previous records.

Under command of Capt Zhang Xiaomin, gearless ship mv Smooth Vitality arrived at Kandla Port on 15th February 2017 with 80559 mts B/L quantity imported by OPGS Power for their Bhadreshwar power plant.

Stevedore operation was handled by Shreeji Shipping with their 2 floating cranes lightened 14079 mts quantity to achieve 13 meter channel draft in just 8 hrs on 16th February 2017.

Traffic Manager Mr Mukesh Balani planned the ship to berth at deep draft after lightning on 17th February 2017.

Deputy Conservator Capt T. Srinivasan took a dynamic step to berth first ship with 13 meter. Along with his team, they successfully berthed the ship with 13 meter draft at CJ-7 with balance quantity on board at 66480 mts.

Handling Agent – Maheshwari Handling Agency Pvt Ltd arranged port and private shore cranes with fleet of dumpers and excavators to achieve this marvellous record. This operation resumed the discharge on jetty at 20.50 hrs on 17th February 2017 and completed at 01.10 hrs on 19th February 2017.
