Turkey to invest in blue economy of Bangladesh

CCCI President, Omar Hazzaz called for single or joint investment by Turkish businessmen in the Blue Economy of Bangladesh and the specialized Naf and Sabrang Tourism Parks for foreigners in Cox’s Bazar.

Turkey Trade Representative Hidayet Onur Ozden in a view exchange meeting with CCCI leaders on Wednesday said  Chattogram is the most important region of Bangladesh, the port city is considered as one of the main business areas due to the port facilities here. 

The discussion took place as a Turkey trade delegation visited Chattogram Chamber of Commerce Industry (CCCI) and exchanged views with its leaders at the World Trade Center. Chamber president Omar Hazzaz said, Chattogram is the main sea port of Bangladesh.  To make Chattogram the logistics and economic hub of South Asia, the government has made the region an attractive investment destination through infrastructure development. He said Asia’s largest Bangaban­dhu Industrial City is located in this region.  Bangladesh has a huge market for Turkish electronics goods and food.  He sought Turkish investments in light engineering, renewable energy, education, health, halal food processing, modern agro processing sectors to enter the huge market of 18 crore people of Bangladesh and make use of geographical advantage, investment friendly and business friendly environment.

He called for single or joint investment by Turkish businessmen in the Blue Economy of Bangladesh and the specialized Naf and Sabrang Tourism Parks for foreigners in Cox’s Bazar.

Kenan KALAYCI, Embassy Commercial counsellor, said Bangladesh is very important in terms of geography and population so the embassy is ready to provide all kinds of cooperation in order to increase business-to-business communication and investment between the two countries. 

Chattogram Chamber President Omar Hazzaz, Turkey delegation leader Hidayet Onur Ozden, Turkish Embassy Commercial Counsellor Selma Bardakci, various sector trade representatives Kenan KALAYCI, Yigit Akbas, Taylan Coban, Samet Gazi Cepitcioglu, Erkam Yildirim, Haider Hokelekli, Aydin, Fatih Aydin, Chamber Directors  Zahirul Islam Chowdhury (Alamgir), Anjan Shekhar Dash, Mahfuzul Haque Shah, Nazmul Karim Chowdhury Sharun, Mahbubul Haque Mia and Akhtar Uddin Mahmud, Reliance Shipping Limited Chairman  also spoke among others.
