Direct container service connects Haldia to Malaysia and Myanmar

This will be a weekly express service. The service will be run by SITC, a leading Intra Asia operator.

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port has started a direct container shipping service from Haldia Dock Complex which will connect to Port Klang in Malaysia and Yangon Port in Myanmar. This will be a weekly express service. The service will be run by SITC, a leading Intra Asia operator.

Through this service, the Far Eastern ports of China and Japan will be connected to Kolkata Port via Port Kelang.

The first vessel on this service, SITC Nagoya called on Haldia International Container Terminal on June 6, arriving directly from Shanghai. The second vessel in the loop service SITC Tianjin will call HDC around June 12.
