Adani Ports bags contract to operate container terminals at Kolkata Port

APSEZ has received the letter of intent to operate the container facility at Netaji Subhas Dock for a period of five years. The company is required to install cargo handling equipment after receiving the letter of acceptance within seven months.

Netaji Subhas Dock is said to be among the largest container terminals on India’s east coast and has handle 0.63 million teus in FY24. It covers the hinterlands of West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Assam, the north east hill states, Nepal and Bhutan. Kolkata Port also receives frequent ship calls from liners visiting transhipment hubs of Port Kelang, Colombo and Singapore.
