A team of 16 delegates from Bangladesh visited Chennai port to evaluate the potential for third country exim cargo movement. The team focused on technical, infrastructure and commercial aspects for using the port. The team will further visit ports at Krishnapatnam, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, and Haldia from July 6 to July 12. Once the transit ports are finalised then the Coastal Shipping Agreement and the Standard Operating Procedure for Protocol on Inland Water Transit and Trade (PIWTT) between India and Bangladesh will be amended.
