The Kerala State government is drafting a master plan for capitalising on the full potential of Vizhinjam Port. The focus will be to promote various sectors like medical devices, electronics and manufacturing sector exports through the port. The State Minister for Industries, P. Rajeeve, further announced the government is reimbursing 25 percent of the amount for purchasing equipment, besides an incentive of Rs.25 lakh is being provided for priority sectors identified in Industrial Policy 2023.
