Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project comes into action

Under the project several critical roads such as Baejendoba – Resubelpara – Mendipathar – Damra; Shillong – Diengpasoh and Pasyih – Garampani are being implemented.

The Finance Ministry has announced a funding of Rs.2000 Cr for developing logistics infrastructure in Meghalaya. The funding is part of the Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project (MTTP), also known as Meghalaya Economic Growth Accelerator Corridor project. The first phase of MITP is being implemented at a cost of Rs.880 Cr being funded by the World Bank. Under the project several critical roads such as Baejendoba – Resubelpara – Mendipathar – Damra; Shillong – Diengpasoh and Pasyih – Garampani are being implemented. The successful completion of these projects has been appreciated by the World Bank. Under the second phase more than 300kms of roads connecting vital business centres such as Shillong, Tura, Jowai and Dawki will be developed.
