Freight train service resumes from Chittagong Port to Kamalapur ICD

After remaining suspended for 23 days, freight train operations restarted on August 11 night from Chattogram Port to Kamalapur ICD.

According to Chattogram Port Authority (CPA) sources, two freight trains moved on August 11 night carrying 50 TEUs of containers from CPA yards to Kamalapur ICD while two other trains ran on August 12 with 46 TEUs of containers. So far, about 3000 teus from Kamalapur ICD have been moved to Chittagong Port yards, much above of its capacity to stock 876teus.
