Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh Al-Jasser, who also chairs the Board of Directors of the Transport General Authority, and Egypt’s Minister of Transport and Industry, Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing maritime connectivity.

This agreement was finalized during the inaugural Global Logistics Forum, which took place in Riyadh from October 12 to 14 under the theme Reshaping the Global Map of Logistics.

The memorandum aims to strengthen collaboration in maritime passenger transport. It outlines the exchange of expertise to train specialized personnel in emerging fields, enhance the quality and efficiency of maritime transport services, and improve the overall experience for users.

Areas of collaboration include activities related to yacht and marine passenger ship transport, as well as passenger ferries.

The forum has attracted ministers, senior officials, leaders of international organizations and industrial unions, alongside experts, academics, and analysts. With 130 speakers and 80 exhibitors from 30 countries, the event offers a diverse range of insights and expertise.

Last month, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman revealed a $5 billion investment in Egypt via the Public Investment Fund (PIF) during a meeting with Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, in Riyadh.
