The Chhattisgarh government is planning to connect the Korba-Bilaspur-Raipur stretch with the proposed Nagpur industrial corridor to enhance economic growth in the state.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal to discuss various projects.

During the meeting, Sai and Goyal focused on several key initiatives, including the industrial corridor, the establishment of international air cargo facilities, and other significant projects. A major topic of discussion was the proposed National Industrial Development Corporation (NIDC) link with Chhattisgarh.

Goyal instructed officials to take necessary action to facilitate the project. The chief minister emphasized that linking the Korba-Bilaspur-Raipur stretch with the Nagpur industrial corridor would significantly boost industrial activities in the state and create ample employment opportunities. He expressed that this move would help place Chhattisgarh prominently on the national industrial map.

The NIDC has proposed a 1,080-km fast route between Delhi and Nagpur for the industrial corridor, along with another corridor connecting Nagpur and Hyderabad. Chhattisgarh is keen to integrate the two corridors to foster industrial development.

Additionally, Chief Minister underscored the need for international air cargo facilities in Raipur, stating that such facilities would facilitate the export of agricultural and food processing products from the state. He proposed utilizing existing infrastructure at the old terminal to support this initiative, which would enable local industries to compete more effectively in global markets.

The establishment of an Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) certification office was also discussed.
