In order to advance multi-modal connectivity, the Union Finance Ministry will shortly write to state governments requesting that they incorporate their infrastructure projects into the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, a digital planning tool.

Since its inception on October 13, 2021, projects totaling at least Rs 500 crore and worth Rs 15 lakh crore have been assessed, the majority of which are in the central sector. These comprise the rail network, cement corridors, high-density corridors, energy, minerals, and road master plans.

By uniting 16 Ministries, including roads and railroads, PM Gati Shakti’s digital platform seeks to deliver multimodal connectivity infrastructure to different economic zones for integrated planning and coordinated project implementation in collaboration with state governments.

The government is also attempting to streamline the numerous regulatory standards and laborious application approval procedures under this program. By FY25, the last year of the ambitious National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP), which is expected to cost Rs 111 trillion over six years, the program plans to give priority to all-mega infrastructure connectivity targets.
