Through Maersk’s ECO Delivery Ocean offering, the multinational food and beverage corporation Danone is collaborating with Maersk to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from logistics.
Fuels with lower greenhouse gas emissions, such as bio-diesel or bio-methanol, which are made entirely from waste feedstocks, form the foundation of Maersk’s offering. The Maersk fleet then uses these fuels on its ships.
When compared to traditional fossil fuels, Danone’s implemented ECO Delivery Ocean reduces greenhouse gas emissions by almost 40%.
Since 2017, Danone’s objectives have been in line with the Science-Based Targets program (SBTi), which aims to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
Similarly, Maersk is the first shipping and logistics firm with a net zero pathway authorized by SBTi, and it aims to achieve net zero by 2040.
In addition to providing complete inland transport solutions and specialized control towers to guarantee efficient logistical operations, Danone and Maersk’s partnership goes beyond maritime transportation.
