The container ship is currently on its second journey to Chattogram port after arriving from Karachi, Pakistan, last month as part of the first-ever direct shipping connection between the two nations. The Panama-flagged ship Yuan Xiang Fa Zhan, which is carrying 825 TEUs of import containers, may reach the port by Friday or Saturday; the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) was notified by the ship’s local agent.

The ship’s local agency is Regensea Lines Ltd, a division of Karnaphuli Limited, which is owned by former environment, forest, and climate change minister and Awami League legislator Saber Hossain Chowdhury. The vessel departed Karachi port on December 11. According to the statement, the ship is currently traveling at 8.8 knots to the port of Chittagong, Bangladesh, and is anticipated to reach the destination on December 21 at 12:00. 370 TEUs of import-laden containers were brought on the ship’s inaugural journey, including 297 TEUs from Pakistan and 73 TEUs from the United Arab Emirates’ Jebel Ali port.

Fabrics, commodities like onions and potatoes, chemicals, and industrial raw materials like soda ash, limestone, and dolomite made up the majority of the ship’s first voyage’s cargo from Karachi. Feeder Lines DMCC, a container ship operating company located in Dubai, launched the new service, which connects the ship to a total of six nations.

The ship’s itinerary is as follows: Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates; Karachi, Pakistan; Chattogram, Bangladesh; Belawan, Indonesia; Port Klang, Malaysia; Mundra, India; and Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. Anis mentioned that the ship now arrives in Chattogram every 38 to 40 days, but the shipping line hopes to add more ships to this route if the volume of cargo increases. According to port sources, the ship is expected to transport approximately 1200 TEUs of export containers from Chattogram this time.
