L&T purchased 500 acres at Kandla Port with the goal of turning it into a hub for the export of green ammonia. At Kandla’s Deendayal Port, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) intends to invest Rs 48,000 crore over ten years to build six green ammonia production plants. With a 300 KTPA capacity, each plant will be constructed in six stages at a cost of more than Rs 8,000 crore.
A vital part of industrial decarbonization, green ammonia is created by electrolyzing water using renewable energy. It is currently in discussions with numerous international parties on the production and exportation of green ammonia.
Last year, L&T bought 500 acres at Kandla Port with the goal of turning it into a hub for the export of green ammonia. The business is looking for approvals for green power supplies and has started the project’s front-end engineering design (FEED). It has produced alkaline-based electrolysers in collaboration with McPhy Energy of France.
