In line with India’s maritime decarbonization goals, Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has officially signed an MoU with Bapu’s Shipping (Jamnagar) Pvt. Ltd. (BSJPL) to provide bunker barge services for bio-methanol bunkering at Kandla Port, located along the Gujarat coast. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in India’s transition to sustainable marine fuel solutions for the maritime industry and aligns with the country’s broader green energy goals.

The agreement reflects the Government of India’s vision for establishing green ports and promoting sustainable shipping solutions. It also supports the global push to reduce carbon emissions in the maritime sector by transitioning to alternative fuels such as bio-methanol, which has a lower carbon footprint compared to conventional marine fuels.
