Mormugao Port Trust has made a record turnover handling 33.179 million MT from April 2016 to March 2017 (as against 20.746 million MT last year) registering a phenomenal growth of 59.67%. Containers touched 29,630 TEUs ( as against 25,537 TEUs in 2015-16.) and grew at 16.03%.
Port Railway Operations also attained a new record with 3,942 in/out bound rakes, @ 9.07 rakes/day outward, and 1.73 inward rakes/day, registering 15% growth.
This growth was achieved due to the dynamic and visionary strategic leadership of our Chairman, Shri I. Jeyakumar IRTS, and ably seconded by our Dy. Chairman, Shri G. P. Rai, HODs, officers, staff and workers of MPT. This success is credited to them all. All our stakeholders, port users and service providers deserve our grateful acknowledgement too. The port of Mormugao rededicates itself to achieving greater heights next year.
