A total traffic of 33.27 lakh tonnes has been handled by the Mormugao Port during the month of May, 2017 as against 34.34 lakh tonnes handled in May, 2016. Containerised traffic during the month of May, 2017 was 0.39 lakh tonnes in 2565 TEUs compared to 0.28 lakh tonnes in 1953 TEUs handled during corresponding period of last year.
Traffic handled from April, 2017 to May,2017 by the Port during the period was 69.71 lakh tones as compared to 67.63 lakh tonnes handled during corresponding period of last year, thereby achieving a growth of 3 %. Containerised traffic from April, 2017 to May, 2017 was 0.70 lakh tonnes in 4619 TEUs compared to 0.68 lakh tonnes in 4288 TEUs handled during corresponding period of last year.
TARIFF AUTHORITY MAJOR PORTS VISITS MPT
Tariff Authority of Major Port (TAMP) conducted joint hearing for revision of Estate rentals proposal of the Port in the Board Room of Mormugao Port Trust, on 30th May, 2017.
The senior Port Officials and trade representatives attended the Joint hearings. FA&CAO/MPT presented the proposals to the Authority for discussion. TAMP heard the views of Port and Port users.
