The Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) in Kandla processed 21,602 tons of ammonia in a 24-hour period, setting a new record for the handling of the chemical, the corporation announced in February 2025.

This exceeds the previous record of 20,639 tons, which was established in Kandla Port on January 15, 2024. The DPA’s accomplishment demonstrates the port’s ability and effectiveness in managing substantial amounts of ammonia, a vital chemical utilized in several industrial operations, such as the manufacturing of fertilizer. The port’s function in enabling the import and distribution of this vital item is highlighted by the new record.

One of the main ports on the west coast of Gujarat, India, is the Deendayal Port Authority, formerly known as the Kandla Port Trust. It is situated in the Kutch area.
