According to Ports Minister V N Vasavan, Vizhinjam International Seaport, which just finished the first phase of its operations, was given a new location code. The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) proposed a new location code.
According to him, the international deep-water transshipment port’s original geographical code was IN NYY 1, which stands for India and Neyyattinkara. According to the minister, the port’s new geographical code is IN TRV 01, which stands for India and Thiruvananthapuram. The minister stated in his tweet that Vizhinjam Port had requested the same since it operates globally, and Thiruvananthapuram’s location code, which includes the international airport here, is TRV. According to Vasavan, UNECE, one of the five regional commissions of the UN that encourages economic integration and cooperation among member nations, authorized the new location code. Navigation will now be done using the IN TRV 01 location code.
