Adani Logistics Limited has started its Inland Container Depot (ICD) after a formal inauguration of the facility located at Borkhedi, 35km from the city. This will be the third ICD operational in the city. The other two are run by Concor, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, and Distribution Logistics Infrastructure (DLI), a private company.

Even as the infrastructure was ready, the operations could not start as the customs formalities were pending. Now a new customs office will also be inaugurated at the Adani ICD.

Goa’s beach shacks are expected to be ready for tourists in December, as operators have yet to complete the payment process and obtain the requisite licences. The tourism department has given additional time for successful allotees to pay the fees and has started issuing provisional NOCs. The department has allotted 253 shacks based on the beach-carrying capacity of 364. Shacks need to be set up early for the tourism season, but some operators have not received the provisional licence yet. Final licences will be issued after inspections.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) plans to increase its renewable energy procurement to 60% by 2027, up from the current 38%. The company aims to mainly source solar and wind power, which will help reduce its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 40%. In a recent development, AESL successfully met 100% of Mumbai’s electricity demand with renewable energy for four hours on Diwali day. Additionally, the company has shown its commitment to reforestation and environmental conservation by planting 24.3 million mangroves and 3.28 million trees. The Adani Group has pledged to plant 100 million trees by 2023, with 30 million already planted.
