At an event marking the successful achievement of the “Mission 150” target, Chairperson of the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Sushil Kumar Singh, extended his heartfelt appreciation to all port users and stakeholders. In his closing remarks, he underscored the significance of collective progress, emphasizing the vital role of workers and labourers in Kandla Port’s growth.
Acknowledging their contributions as the foundation of the port’s success, Singh urged stevedores to support and uplift them, stating, “The almighty sees everything. If you take care of them, the almighty will take care of you.” (Upar wala sab dekh raha hai. Aap sab stevedores ka bhala to Kandla port ki growth ke saath ho hi raha hai, hamari ek request hai ki aap log apne shrami aur majdoor bhaibeheno ka bhi jitna ho sake bhala karte chalen. Hamari aapki growth me sabse bada contribution unka hai. Aap uka khyaal rakhenge to uparwala aapka khyaal rakhega)
His message reinforced the importance of ensuring the well-being of those who sustain port operations, aligning prosperity with responsibility.
Demonstrating true leadership, Kandla Port has initiated the distribution of food and ration kits to shramiks working at the port. Inspired by this effort, stevedores have now embraced the mission, extending their support by providing daily essentials and food to workers in the Kandla Port docks. Recognizing that the workforce is the port’s greatest asset, DPA has committed to enhancing the ease of living for shramiks and majdoors, both within the port and surrounding areas.
DPA Chairperson remarked, “We have a long journey ahead, but taking this first step towards an inclusive growth environment that honours every contributor to Kandla Port’s success is crucial.”
Kandla Port is now advancing with a comprehensive growth strategy that not only aims to set new benchmarks in cargo throughput and establish itself as a leader in Green Hydrogen development but also prioritizes improving working conditions and enhancing the ease of living for shramiks and majdoors.
