The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has made its debut in the digital financial instruments space with the issue of its first digital bond valued at $300 million. This is also the first Dollar denominated digital financial instrument issued for Euroclear on a distributed ledger similar to Blockchain. Citigroup and BMO Capital Markets were the bankers for the transaction.

The note is listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, with the clearing of bonds also possible on the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s Central Money markets Unit and the SIX Swiss Exchange.
