Akhaura Land Port reports increased exports to India

Akhaura Land Port, one of the largest in Bangladesh, has reported growth in exports to India increased by Tk51.65 crore in the FY24. Products worth TK428 Cr were exported to India from this land Customs Station.

Akhaura Land Port, one of the largest in Bangladesh, has reported growth in exports to India increased by Tk51.65 crore in the FY24. Products worth TK428 Cr were exported to India from this land Customs Station. Imports such as stones, onions, ginger, and cumin totalled to around Tk7 Crore, reflecting a slight decline compared to previous fiscal. In FY23, products worth Tk376.23 crore were exported to India against imports of Tk66 crore, generating Tk56 lakh in revenue. In the previous fiscal Customs earned TK4.68 Cr from trade with India. High duty on stone imports particularly added to the revenue. Various products including frozen fish, rods, cement, plastic, edible oil, cotton, furniture and food items are exported to Tripura through this land port.
