The nomination of Allcargo Logistics’ Chennai CFS for 24X7 export activity by the Customs is a matter of great pride and honor for the company. It bolster’s the company’s initiatives to boost the cargo volumes of the Chennai port and deliver enhanced value propositions to customers through advanced cargo-handling capacities and other value-added services.

“With our Chennai CFS becoming functional 24X7, we will be able to expand our customer outreach significantly and provide our clients with state-of-the-art cargo handling services at any hour of the day. This development has boosted our resolve to continually boost our service competencies and build a robust Pan-India CFS network to facilitate seamless cargo consolidation. We recognize the invaluable contribution of our employees in working committedly and tirelessly for this stellar achievement to bear fruition,” stated Shashi Kiran Shetty, Chairman, Allcargo Logistics

With the Chennai CFS of Allcargo becoming operational 24X7, Customs officers will be deployed in 3 shifts to ensure that the station is manned between 11:00 am-2:00 am to boost seamless cargo transportation. The geographical advantage possessed by the Chennai CFS by being in the closest proximity of 9 km from the Chennai port will be leveraged to the fullest extent. The development will also ensure optimal utilization of resources and result in zero time limit for stuffing the export containers, providing 24X7 export carting for customers.

Equipped by the latest technology of tagging containers with close range passive RFID tags accompanied by the unique feature of high speed stuffing and de-stuffing the Chennai CFS has always proven its efficiency of achieving some significant figures in export and import. With export carting available 24X7 for our customers, there will be no time limit for stuffing the export containers. This will eventually maximise the geographical advantage the Chennai CFS already has of being in the closest proximity of 9km from the Chennai port.

Set up in 2007, the Chennai CFS is spread over 25 acres. Handling around 9.8% of the overall import volume of Chennai, it specializes in the areas of LCL and FCL and provides cargo consolidation services to customers. The CFS also handles hazardous cargo and ODC.  Crucial to the Pan-India operations of Allcargo, the CFS has been central to boosting the global trade volumes of the company
