Allcargo Logistic Park organises Drushti eye camp in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana

Allcargo Logistic Ltd and Allcargo Logistic Park Pvt. Ltd., successfully organised eight Drushti eye camps in Mubarakpur, Thapkhera, Sammaudinpur, Tilapta, Sheorajpur, Dairy Macha, Shahpur and Chithera villages in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to create awareness of general health, provide eye care and counselling. Organised in collaboration with Foundation of His Sacred Majesty, the eight Drushti eye camps treated 3176 economically deprived patients from 34 villages in both the states.

The first Drushti eye camp in Mubarakapur which was inaugurated by Mr. Nitin Behl, Sr GM, Allcargo Logistics Park Private Limited took place on February 28, 2020 and the last or the eight eye camp was organised in Chiethera on Mach 15, 2020.

“The objective of organising Drushti eye camps is to prevent blindess and ensure self reliance of the elderly citizens. We are thankful to our partners to help us offer eye care facilities to economically underprivileged people in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Thanks to our eye care camps, people were able to return to work, improved attendance and comprehension of the students in school and enhanced participation in family activities with restored eyesight. We have received an overwhelming response from the local people,” said Dr. Nilratan Shende, GM – CSR, Allcargo Logistics.

Of the total 3176 beneficiaries treated at eight Drushti eye camps 889 were women and 696 were men. Of the total beneficiaries, 171 patients (114 women and 57 men) underwent surgical treatments for cataract, 585 patients (331women and 254 men) were treated for spectacular malfunction and duly offered with free spectacles, 789 patients (433 women and 356 men) were treated with medicines for minor eye defects, 60 patients (39 women and 21men) had been referred to higher institutions whereas 1571 (830 women and 741 men) people had utilized the basic eye testing services. Post-treatment follow-ups were also arranged to monitor the progress of the patients who underwent surgery.

Majority of the people who attended the camps were suffering from unclear vision. At those camps, doctors diagnosed people with various common but seriously neglected problems such as bulging eyes, CMV retinitis, crossed eyes (strabismus) and cataract.
