AMTOI holds its 22nd Annual General Meeting

The AGM discussed importance of Digitization in the logistics industry as we are on the cusp of a Digital Revolution, popularly known as i4.0 or the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The Association of Multimodal Transport Operators of India – AMTOI, held its 22nd AGM on the 29th of September 2021 using a virtual platform.

President Mr. Shantanu Bhadkamkar welcomed everyone and addressed the gathering.

The AGM proceedings started on time at 1600hrs. After presentation of the Annual report for the term 2020 -21 by the Hon. Secretary Mrs. Anjali Bhide and the Audited financial report by the Hon. Treasurer Mr. Arun Kumar, the results of the election to two posts of the executive committee were announced.

This was followed by the customary presentation of citation by the President Mr. Shantanu Bhadkamkar to members – Aargus Global Logistics Pvt Ltd for completion of 25 Years and Globe Forwarding Agencies Pvt Ltd for completion of 10 Years in Business

This year, in addition to the citations of honor, AMTOI has started a new practice of issuing Certificates of Loyalty to its members for their continued patronage and commitment to Multimodalism. These are presented to Companies which have completed 10 and 20 years as members of AMTOI. For the foremost year the Certificate of Loyalty was presented to 25 members who completed 10 Years and 8 members who completed 20 years as members of AMTOI

This year AMTOI also introduced a new award – instituted in the memory of Late Shri P.K. Srivastava Award for excellence in Multimodalism. Late Shri P.K. Srivastava was the founder president of AMTOI. This will be a bi-annual Award presented to an individual or entity who has made significant contributions to the Multimodal industry.

The recipient of the 1st award was based on the decision of an eclectic jury consisting of stalwarts from the Logistics and Maritime industry namely, Mr. Tushar Jani, Mr. Dinesh Lal, Mr. Venkat Raman, Mr. Nailesh Gandhi, Mr. Mukesh Oza, Mr. Anand Sheth and Mr. Shantanu Bhadkamkar,

Mrs. Kalpana Srivastava spouse of Shri P.K. Srivastava was invited for the event and she addressed the Audience briefly.

This year the Award was presented to Shri N. Sivasailam, IAS (Ex- Special Secretary Logistics) for his stellar contribution to the Logistics Industry. Shri N. Sivasailam thanked AMTOI for the same.

The floor was opened for members to discuss Any other business.

The program then moved on to a very interesting and informative “AMTOI Dialogues” session which was moderated by Mr. Xerrxes Master of AMTOI. The speaker for this session was Shri N. Sivasailam, IAS (Ex- Special Secretary Logistics). He emphasized on Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) and how AMTOI as an Association can set its own standards and benchmarks in achieving SRO status. In addition, he also shared the importance of Digitization in the logistics industry as we are on the cusp of a Digital Revolution, popularly known as i4.0 or the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It was a very interactive session where the audience also got a chance to put up their questions to him and get his expert opinion.

The AGM concluded with Mrs. Anjali Bhide, Hon. Secretary giving the vote of thanks.

Post conclusion of the AGM, the 1st Executive Committee meeting for the year 2021-2022 was held at 1830 Hrs on virtual platform.
