They are also setting up nine fishing harbors and will complete the construction of 4 harbors as part of phase 1 at an investment of Rs 3,500 crore.
The Ramayapatnam port will bring down the cost of transportation significantly and will be executed in two phases. The first phase would cost Rs 3,736.14 crore and the final one will involve an investment of Rs 10,640 crore. The project will be built by Ramayapatnam Port Development Corporation, under the state government organization AP maritime board. The state will get four more new ports in the next five years, in addition to the existing six and the move would not just give a boost to the state’s economy but also generate job opportunities to the locals.
