“That should be able to take us further to our goal of becoming the world’s largest port operator by 2030 and help us to continue with growth at around 12-14 percent in volumes annually,” Karan Adani told media in Vizhinjam. The new transhipment port build with an investment of Rs7,700 crores reached a significant milestone with the arrival of a ship carrying cranes for the port.

Karan Adani said that APSEZ will fund the expansion mostly through internal resources. “APSEZ is a free cash generating company. Every year, we generate roughly about Rs7,000-8,000 crores of free cash flow. This is after doing all acquisitions, paying interest and capex. This free cash flow is going to keep increasing because a lot of our assets have matured. And, lot of assets which we have build over the last 3-4 years, these are also maturing. That will also further add to the cash flows,” Karan Adani said.
