AWL India Pvt. Ltd. A Gurgaon based Logistics and Supply Chain Company has bagged the warehousing and supply chain contract from Okinawa Scooters – manufacturers of ecofriendly battery operated scooters which gives the Solution to Pollution to our Society. With this contract, AWL will be responsible for managing the end-to-end warehousing solutions and for Okinawa Scooters at its Bhiwadi plant in Rajasthan.
The outsourcing of warehousing activity will allow Okinawa Scooters to focus on service quality and product management. It would also help reduce lead time in order execution and improve stock accuracy. AWL’s customized fulfillment of end-to-end solutions will ensure uninterrupted availability of the pollution free e-scooters across India.
Commenting on the venture, Mr. Rahul Mehra, CEO, AWL India Pvt. Ltd. said “AWL intends to capitalize on huge market potential that lies in e-scooter segment and strengthen Okinawa Scooter’s presence across various cities in India. We consider this as a beginning of a new partnership that will go a long way in extending our value additions in the entire supply-chain business for them.”
Further on the Association with AWL India Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Jeetender Sharma, Managing Director, Okinawa Autotech Pvt. Ltd. said “Our Company Vision is to make our society Eco Friendly with the 100% Electric Power train technology which do not require any Fossil Fuel with the aim of Okinawa Scooters – “Solution to Pollution& AWL will play a vital role in the Journey of Okinawa.”
AWL India Pvt. Ltd. will provide Okinawa Scooters with expertise and project management capabilities in order to improve warehousing activities, focusing on optimizing inventory. AWL would also be responsible for implementing the technological solutions that would be required to support the complete end-to-end supply chain ensuring maximum flexibility and real time visibility of inventory.
Mr. Rahul Mehra, CEO, AWL India Pvt. Ltd. further added “The Government is also intending to transform the country into a nation that runs on only electric vehicles by 2030 which is a an exceptionally positive step to look forward to considering the present miniscule market share of electric powered vehicles.”
At present, electric vehicles sales account for less than 1 per cent of all total vehicle sales in India according to industry lobby group Society of Manufacturers of Electric Vehicles (SMEV).
