Bangladesh plans to start commercial export of mangoes to Japan and European countries from 2023, Agriculture Minister Muhammad Abdur Razzaque said today. “We have to comply with some rules to be eligible for mango export to Japan and EU nations.”
For this, the government has taken a two-year vapour heat treatment project to ensure safe and secure mango, he said.
Razzaque spoke at the opening ceremony of the “Agri-Technology Park” established by Yanmar, a Japanese agricultural machinery company, in collaboration with ACI Motors Limited.
The event took place at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka.
At the event, Japanese Ambassador Ito Naoki showed interest to take mangoes from Bangladesh.
Razzaque also requested Japan for building agricultural manufacturing industries in Bangladesh.
