A feasibility check will be performed by Bangladesh for using more Indian ports for routing third country exports. A delegation will be visiting India to check the feasibility of adding more ports under the provisions of the Coastal Shipping Agreement and Protocol on Inland Water Transit and Trade (PIWT&T). The focus will be on ports of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, and Haldia and Kolkata in West Bengal. India has also widened the facility by including riverine routes with the surface communications systems. India has also been providing free transit to Bangladesh for exporting its products to Nepal and Bhutan.
